Parking & Traffic

Parking Permits

A parking permit is required to park in parking lots on the Mount Marty University campus. The university will ticket and possibly tow vehicles that do not have valid permits. Permit parking is designed to allow Campus Safety to identify potential threats to the university. If you are a current student that is in need of a parking permit, make sure you are logged in to your Mount Marty University email account and click the button below.

Visitor parking is designated by posted signs in some of the parking lots. Non-permitted parking is allowed only during events on campus such as move-in days, theatrical performances at Marian Auditorium, basketball and volleyball events at Cimpl Arena, and other scheduled non-campus related events. Visitor parking stalls are reserved exclusively for this purpose. Under no circumstances are current registered students considered visitors. Parking Enforcement

Campus Safety enforces all parking regulations on campus property. The Yankton Police Department enforces handicap parking on the campus. If you are illegally parked in a handicap stall, the Yankton Police Department will issue you a parking citation. The current fine amount is $173.50.

Bicycles, Motorcycles and Scooters

Mount Marty has designated parking spaces for motorcycles, scooters, and bicycles.  Only university-owned or approved vehicles (facilities and outside contractors) are authorized to drive on campus sidewalks and grounds.

If you are a returning student, and plan to leave your bike secured on campus over the summer break, Mount Marty University is not responsible if your bike is stolen. If you are leaving your bicycle on campus over the summer break, you must notify Campus Safety. On June 1st of every year, if Campus Safety has not received notification of your bicycle being left on campus, we will consider the bicycle abandoned and remove it from the campus.
