Our Mission
Mount Marty University, an academic community in the Catholic Benedictine liberal arts tradition, prepares students for a contemporary world of work, service to the human community and personal growth.
As South Dakota's Catholic University, Mount Marty values its rich Benedictine heritage. Founded in 1936 by Mother Jerome Schmitt, Mount Marty was built on the 1500-year tradition of Benedictine values. Four of these - awareness of God, community, hospitality, and lifelong learning - are our core values.
