Orientation
Things to do before you come to new student orientation:
By June 1 for fall start students; by September 1 for spring start students:
- File your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
By June 15 for fall start students; by September 15 for spring start students:
- Accept your financial aid offer through the LancerLink Student Portal.
- Submit your Housing Application. You will need your Mount Marty email and password to complete the housing application.
- Schedule a meeting with your academic advisor to register for classes. You will receive a message from MMU admissions office titled, "Set a time to register for classes" and will be invited to select a virtual appointment time.
- Dual Credit Students: Submit official transcripts from institutions where you earned college credit.
- Upload your Immunization Record through the LancerLink Student Portal.
By July 1 for fall start students; by November 1 for spring start students:
- Complete Loan Entrance Counseling.
- Complete Master Promissory Counseling. If you have any questions about these items, please contact the Financial Aid office at 605-668-1589 or finaid@mountmarty.edu.
- Start your Online Orientation found on Brightspace.
By August 1 for fall start students; by December 1 for spring start students:
- Request no cost Payment Plan. Contact Jennifer Livingston in the Business Office 605-668-1575 or jennifer.livingston@mountmarty.edu.
- Request Textbook Vouchers. You will receive an email with your Voucher ID when the online bookstore is open. Contact Jennifer Livingston in the Business Office 605-668-1575 or jennifer.livingston@mountmarty.edu.
NEW STUDENT ORIENTATION
All new incoming students are expected to attend New Student Orientation. By participating in New Student Orientation, students should be able to:
- Understand the academic expectations of Mount Marty.
- Understand the rights, responsibilities, and expectations of being a part of the Mount Marty community.
- Identify choices and behaviors that may impact their peers and their community.
- Know how to access information about campus resources that will help them to be successful.
- Know how to access information about co-curricular opportunities.
- Connect to faculty, administration, staff and current students.
- Meet other new students and begin to identify a peer group.
- Feel prepared for the first week of classes.
- Feel connected to and pride for Mount Marty University.
- Identify social, cultural, and recreational opportunities and resources in the Yankton community.
