BIOGRAPHY
Andy has been teaching speech and theatre courses at MMU since 1997. In addition, he has taught speech, theatre and art courses at the Federal Prison Camp in Yankton for twenty years. Henrickson administrated and ran the Mount Marty Oral Interp Runner-Up Contest for high school students from 1997-Covid, and also promotes and runs the annual Theatre Day event each spring. Andy has been a judge for high school Oral Interpretation for the SDHSAA (local, district, region and state levels) since 1981, a judge for SDHSAA One-Act Play (district, region and state levels) since 1985, and is also a production respondent for the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival Region V. A stage director at heart, Henrickson holds an MFA in Directing from the University of South Dakota as well as a BS in Speech and Theatre from South Dakota State University. Prior to joining the faculty at MMU, Henrickson was a staff director for the Sioux Falls Community Playhouse (SD), serving in positions of Education Director, Associate Artistic Director and Artistic Director over a span of ten years. Andy brought the annual Stations of the Cross Holy Week event to the stage in 2008.
