Information for Guests

We are excited to welcome you to campus to celebrate your graduate's commencement!

Attendance

There are currently no guest restrictions for each ceremony.

Handicap seating will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Guests who are unable to attend in person are welcome to watch the ceremony via a livestream on our website.

Ceremony Length

The ceremony will last approximately one hour. Following the ceremony, graduates will be led outdoors where they will be able to meet with their guests. Please make appropriate arrangements.

Photography

A professional photographer will take photos of each graduate. Photos will be available, free of charge, on this site a week after the ceremony.

Guests may take their own photographs during the ceremony, but must remain outside of the candidate seating area. Guests will have time after the ceremony to take personal photographs.

Academic Regalia

Academic regalia may be picked up in the Roncalli Welcome Center from 12:30 - 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 2 and from 7:30 - 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 3. If you plan to attend Baccalaureate, you will need to have your regalia picked up in the afternoon as the gown is worn during Mass. We encourage all graduates in town on Friday to pick up their regalia on Friday to avoid delays on Saturday.

Please return your rental gown to the Roncalli Welcome Center after you have taken photos with your guests. You keep your cap and tassel. After you return your gown, take a moment to officially sign the MMU Alumni Wall.

Academic regalia orders are due March 15.

Ceremony Details

Depending on the weather, we will assemble in the ASNC gym or the grass area between ASNC and SLC by 9:00 a.m. This will ensure we are ready to begin the commencement ceremony by 10:00 a.m.

The ceremony will last approximately one hour. Following the ceremony, graduates will be led outdoors where they will be able to meet with their guests. Please make appropriate arrangements.

For Yankton Graduates - Graduate Students (Masters and Doctorate Degrees)
