Financial aid includes any monetary resources (other than your family’s) that help offset the cost of a college education. A typical financial aid package includes scholarships, grants, loans and work-study.
Types of Financial Aid
Grants are awards that you never have to repay. Available from both federal sources and Mount Marty University, they are awarded based on demonstrated financial need.
Scholarships are awarded based on your academic performance or extracurricular activities. Private scholarships are available through civic and fraternal organizations, and several are awarded through Mount Marty. Moreover, they do not need repayment. We are ever-thankful to alumni and friends who make such gifts possible.
Loans provide funding that you must repay. The repayment of most federal loans can be deferred, at least on a half-time basis, while you attend college.
Employment programs provide part-time work to help you pay for college. Federal work-study and Mount Marty College campus employment offer jobs in a variety of areas on campus, including food services, the book store, administrative offices, and outdoors on our beautiful campus.

Most students receive some type of assistance. To determine your eligibility, please complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Eligibility for certain need-based programs is tied to your family's financial resources as disclosed on the FAFSA. Once you’ve completed the FAFSA, our Financial Assistance Office will determine your need based on the Expected Family Contribution (EFC) that the government provides. Financial need is calculated using a simple formula:

Students can file the 2021-2022 FAFSA now! For the 2021-2022 FAFSA, students (and parents for dependents) will report their 2019 income and tax information. It is best to submit your FAFSA as early as possible.
To complete your FAFSA, go to: www.fafsa.gov. To do so, you will need your FSA ID name and password. If you are a dependent student, one of your legal parents will need an FSA ID and Password as well.
