A bachelor’s degree in psychology will help you understand human behavior and prepare you for graduate work or a broad range of career fields. True to our Catholic Benedictine values, we look at psychology as a way to understand, serve and be open to others.
Our Watertown campus specializes in helping working adults complete their undergraduate degree to advance their careers. You’ll take core courses such as personality theory, social psychology, counseling and physiological psychology and choose from electives such as health psychology, abnormal psychology, sport psychology and group dynamics. Through these classes, you will explore what motivates human behavior and use that knowledge to understand both normal and abnormal behavior.
The Mount Marty Psychology program is designed to help students:
- Develop a working knowledge of psychology’s content domains.
- Apply ethical standards to evaluate research and social behavior.
- Interpret, design and conduct basic psychological research.
- Apply psychological principles to everyday life.
- Prepare for employment or graduate school.
Core courses include internships and service learning experiences in the community, which will give you real-life experience in psychology.
I hadn’t been in a classroom for over twelve years and academics was never easy for me. The convenient location allowed me to attend afternoon, evening and night classes. I knew enrolling in a four-year college was going to be a challenge, but I did it and graduated in May 2013.
I received a quality, four-year degree in psychology and continue to live and work in Watertown. They have wonderful faculty and professors who are willing to go above and beyond to see you succeed.
