Institutional Effectiveness
The primary focuses of the Office of Institutional Effectiveness are the areas of institutonal research, grant development and administration and strategic planning. More specifically, to:
- Manage the collection, analysis, and interpretation of institutional data.
- Provide information to support planning and decision-making.
- Assist with meeting compliance and reporting requirements.
- Seek external funding for the support of existing programs and for the development of new programs and initiatives that further institutional and programmatic goals.
INSTITUTIONAL RESEARCH
The Common Data Set (CDS) is a collaborative effort among data providers in the higher education community and publishers to improve the quality and accuracy of information provided to all involved in a student’s transition into higher education. It contains information on student enrollment and persistence, admission, academic offerings, student life, annual expenses, financial aid, faculty and instruction, and degrees conferred.
The Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) is a system of survey components that collects data from institutions across the United States. Produced by the National Center for Education Statistics, the following reports compare MMU data provided through IPEDS surveys to data from peer institutions.
College Navigator consists primarily of the latest data from the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS), the core postsecondary education data collection program for the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES). College profiles include publicly available institutional data such as programs and majors, tuition and fees, retention, graduation rates and the price of attendance.
