The Graduate Programs in Biotechnology Management at Mount Marty University prepare future leaders and executives in a rapidly growing industry. The program is unique in its focus on leadership and communication across the science and business of the pharmaceutical industry.

Choose either a 30-credit, fully online, one-year Master of Science OR a 10-credit, fully online Graduate Certificate. Our curriculum is taught entirely by current pharmaceutical industry professionals and it is designed to be flexible with full-time schedules of working professionals.

 

Master of Science in Biotechnology Management

The Master of Science degree requires completion of a 30-credit curriculum and can be completed in as little as two semesters. The Graduate Certificate requires completion of 10 credits and can be completed in as little as one semester.

Participants of this program work with faculty to secure a 3-credit pharmaceutical industry internship. This experience is intended to provide students with relevant and translatable industry experience. Whether students are interested in the science, business, executive or regulatory sectors of biotechnology, the program will provide the option of local or virtual industry placements to ensure students experience biotechnology in its full, rich and complex context.

Graduate Certificate in Biotechnology Management

Prerequisites

  • Completion of a bachelor's degree at an accredited institution.

  • BTH 510 Introduction to the Pharmaceutical and Biotech Industries (3 credits)
  • BTH 530 Business, Management and Finance for the Pharmaceutical and Biotech Industries (2 credits)
  • BTH 531 Intellectual Property and Commercialization (1 credit)
  • BTH 540 Regulatory Affairs (1 credit)
  • BTH 585 Biotechnology Internship (3 credits)

Elective Option: This certificate is intended to prepare future leaders for management roles in the biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry. To provide flexibility based upon students’ specific management career aspirations, students may petition the Program Director to substitute any other courses in the Masters in Biotechnology curriculum. Such substitution requests must provide justification and must be submitted in writing. Substitutions do not alter the minimum 10 credits required for completion of the Certificate.

Total Costs & Scholarship Information

The Master of Science in Biotechnology Management is incredibly affordable. The total cost-per-credit, before scholarships, is $1,040 for the 2024-2025 academic year, and many students receive a scholarship of $200 per credit! Because the program is completely online, there are no additional fees students need to consider other than purchasing required books. Additionally, some students will qualify for significant additional scholarships that could provide up to $5,000 per semester in additional funding.
